About this blog

The title of this blog refers to the fact that my mother’s family is highly idiosyncratic and dominated exclusively by females. The chief matriarch is my grandmother, Nanna, who has had eighty-three years to master the art of manipulation and has dedicated her retirement to complicating the lives of her offspring. Most of the wackiness in our family can be traced back to her.

Between Nanna’s domineering and the network of colorful friends we have acquired over the years, I have found my family to be a rich source of entertainment. A couple of years ago I got into the habit of typing up some of the more amusing stories and sharing them with my friends. I’ve been told that I should put them into a book, but I figured it would be easier to start with a blog. So from now on, if you want to read about the time my grandmother drove through a plate glass window or the time my aunt’s dog had a professional photo shoot, this is the place to go.

The frequency of posts may be somewhat erratic, but if you sign up for email alerts you’ll always know when there’s something new. Thanks for reading!
